How to prepare for the colour analysis
Many clients ask me how should they prepare themselves for the colour analysis. In this blogpost you get some information how you can prepare yourself for the analysis.
Come as you are, without make-up. We need to have a view on your pure colouring during the analysis. You can of course lend a face wash and a towel at the studio.
Postpone your hairdresser, if you dye your hair and do not mind to wait. It is great if we can see your current haircolour, even of it is a few centimeters only. The colour analysis can give an insight for your ideal hair colour anyhow, if you are unsure, so this can be valuable information for your next visit to the hairdresser. If we cannot see your natural hair, some photos of your natural hair colour could help.
If you wear contact lenses and glasses, choose the contact lenses for your analysis. This way you can follow the analysis clearly the whole time. The frames of your glasses can make analysis more difficult, especially if they are a strong colour. If you always wear glasses, no problem, we can do the draping without your glasses first and then with your glasses.
Prepare to look at yourself rather than the colours. We will study what happens with you when you are wearing different colours. We should then forget for a while which colours we like or not, and not let it interfere too much during the analysis.
Have an open mind. Be open for a result which may surprise you. I can ensure you you will find beautiful colours in your palette, whatever it will be. You may have to give the result and new colours some time.
Be flexible. You will hear some of your favourite colours or jewellery could work better in another colour. This is more a guideline for your future purchases than an advice to stop using items you like to wear straight away. You can make also the less ideal colours work with some tricks and keep wearing them.
Prepare for the coming weeks. You may want to change a lot in your wardrobe right away according to your new palette, but it is good to give it some time. Shop first in your own closet, try the new colours without buying anything, make a wishlist and edit it along the way. It can take up to three years to change your closet according to your colour palette.
Use to opportunity to get a lot of information, and ask questions during the analysis or afterwards. Your analyst is happy to help you with any doubts. You can make a list of your questions beforehand.
